How large a Pushkar wedding can be

Pushkar suits intimate weddings and not large ones, and being clear about that at the planning stage saves a couple real disappointment. The ghats and their rules

That short drive is the practical solution to Pushkar's biggest limitation, and planning it properly is the difference between a hundred and fifty guests arriving together and arriving across two hours.

The Aravallis and the Savitri temple hill above the town give the best wide views of the lake and the ghats, reached by a steep climb or the ropeway. Early morning up there, with mist still on the water and the town waking below, is the frame Pushkar is worth travelling for.

Season is October through March, with the desert extremes either side of it. Summer here is severe and the monsoon is short but can raise the lake level enough to change what the ghats look like entirely. Winter mornings are cold and the light is clean.
